Students urged to consider apprenticeship options after A level results
With student debt rising, and the average student reportedly leaving university with debt levels of £50,000, a leading healthcare apprenticeship programme is urging students to consider an apprenticeship career path as an alternative to University.
Northamptonshire’s ‘Best of Both Worlds’ campaign is currently recruiting for a wide range of career opportunities where students can train for recognised healthcare qualifications while earning a competitive salary and gaining the benefits of working within a supportive team in one of the UK’s leading healthcare organisations.
The Best of Both Worlds programme brings together leading NHS employers in Northamptonshire to highlight the benefits of living and working in the region, and there are opportunities for apprentices across the county.
Mary O’Neill, Campaign Manager, Altadicta, explains why career opportunities in Northamptonshire are so unique:
“Northamptonshire is the fastest growing area in the UK with the lowest unemployment level and the region is the perfect place to start a healthcare career. Our apprenticeship opportunities offer excellent training, with no tuition fees to repay and excellent prospects in some of the UK’s finest healthcare settings – all only one hour from London, Oxford and Birmingham with excellent transport links.”
Laura Watts, Apprenticeship Project Manager at Northamptonshire Health and Care Partnership added:
“I really hope everyone got the A level results they hoped for today, but even if you didn’t, we’re keen to talk to anyone who wants to start a career in healthcare without the barrier of tuition fees.
“Apprenticeships are opening up the training and development opportunities for individuals and giving them a viable route into a rewarding career – both clinical and non-clinical – and our hospitals and region offer a good work-life balance. For many, an apprenticeship offers an excellent alternative to university and I would definitely recommend students consider their options fully.”
