Exceptionally heavy rainfall today has caused a number of problems in Bridgend County Borough.
In a statement, Leader of the Council, Cllr. Huw David issued an update, saying:
“Our crews are continuing to work around the clock to deal with localised flooding and keep drains, culverts and roads as clear as possible.
“All across the county borough, our workers are responding to requests for help from householders, clearing gullies of debris and helping to protect properties by distributing sandbags.
“A flood alert on the River Ewenny has now been lifted, but the Dipping Bridge at Merthyr Mawr remains closed.
Drivers heading up to the Bwlch should be aware that the A4107 into Neath Port Talbot had been blocked by a landslide, but this has been cleared and the road re-opened.
All other roads in the county borough remain passable with care.
