Experienced nurses looking for a fresh challenge in a new location, should consider some senior nursing vacancies at Kettering General Hospital, located in the beautiful countryside of Northamptonshire, which could offer them the next step on the career ladder.
Kettering is seeking a deputy sister/charge nurse for the Lamport and Twywell ward, a double ward for general medicine, and also a deputy sister/charge nurse for its Naseby A ward, a 20 bed female ward. Both roles offer great opportunities for personal and professional development, and to become part of energetic, forward thinking and motivated teams.
The deputy sister/charge nurse plays a central role within the wards working with staff, to support and develop their skills, professional development, knowledge and practice, ensuring they are working in accordance with professional codes of conduct, best practice guidelines and the hospital’s Trust Care Values and governance frameworks.
The hospital is also looking for a Band 7 ward sister to work on its Middleton Assessment Unit, an acute admissions unit. The successful candidate must be committed to delivering high quality care, ensuring staff and patients’ needs are met. The role involves ensuring ward staff are committed to evidence-based practice, as well as being aware of the latest updates and changes to policies and procedures. Other aspects include leading service development, research and auditing as a way of enhancing patient care and experience.
This is an exciting time to be part of the workforce at Kettering General Hospital after they joined forces in 2020 with Northampton General Hospital in establishing a group model to develop greater collaboration in the further delivery of high quality, patient focussed clinical services, supported by pooled corporate resources to enable better outcomes for local people.
This innovative approach is not about two organisations merging but looking at how the two Trusts can work better together and make the most of joint resources and highly skilled teams to address future healthcare challenges, including rising population and increased life expectancy, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Group have many proposed developments such as the £550m re-build of the Kettering site planned for 2025-2030, and the development of a new Diagnostic Treatment Centre, plus they are working towards changing their CQC ratings of ‘Requires Improvement’ into ‘Outstanding’.
Kettering General Hospital is a key partner in the ‘Best of Both Worlds’ recruitment campaign. The campaign brings together the University of Northampton, Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northampton General Hospital, Kettering General Hospital (KGH), St Andrew’s Healthcare and Northants GP and aims to recruit nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals to live and work in Northamptonshire.
