Estateguru Group, the property investment and financing platform, today announces the appointment of Judith Tan as Head of Capital Markets.

Tan’s new role will support Estateguru’s recent launch to the UK market, in addition to maintaining the company’s existing presence across Europe. Tan will lead the new EIF credit fund which offers an attractive opportunity to institutional investors. It will provide access to the European SME property-lending market estimated at €400 billion that is largely neglected currently. This diversified credit fund uses resources from the European Guarantee Fund, ensuring that European SMEs have sufficient funding to withstand financial pressures brought about by the pandemic.

Tan will also be responsible for securing funding for the UK and Germany, with a target of originating €5 billion in three years with a majority from the German entity. She will also work with the country teams to establish an origination process to facilitate funding by institutions globally with an emphasis in the US.

Tan is planning to expand Estateguru’s reach through future bilateral deals, forward funding, and the inclusion of third-party distributors and advisers to catapult the platform to higher levels of success, in addition to its work with retail investors.

Within the financial services sector, Tan has been a notable player having started her career at Morgan Stanley as an associate before transferring to other large corporations such as Lehman Brothers, Commerzbank AG, Nomura, Investec Bank, and Northgate Investment Management. Prior to her new role at Estateguru, Tan served as a Director at Native Finance as well as advising property funds and banks as a consultant.

To date, the Estonian fintech, founded in 2013, has lent more than €545m in bridging, development, and business loans to over 3,000 projects across Europe, and it is planning to replicate this success in the UK market.

Marek Pärtel, Co-founder and Chairman at Estateguru, comments:

“Judith has extensive knowledge and experience of both the UK and US markets and an outstanding pedigree, having originated circa $7bn in transactions across both sides of the Atlantic and Europe. She has already initiated plans to propel Estateguru’s growth as a leading property investment platform as we continue disrupting the landscape, and will be a real asset to the team.”

Judith Tan, Head of Capital Markets, comments:

“Estateguru is a forward-thinking player in the Real Estate investment scene across Europe. Having just launched in the UK with the opening of its Manchester office, it’s an exciting time to join and help with its ambitious plans to expand nationwide, as well as focusing on the EIF credit fund to further develop our growth strategy.”
