Jet Plant secures prestigious Motor Transport Safety in Operation award

Jet Plant Hire, a leading UK road planing contractor, is celebratingwinning the much-respected Safety in Operation award, at the Motor Transport Awards,held last week at Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

In the face of fierce industry competition from much larger businesses, Jet was honoured to take home the coveted award, which was collected by Managing Director Sean Withefordand Business Improvement Director, Tina Greenhill.

 

Jet delivers the very highest standards of health and safety and that ongoing commitment is built into the DNA of the company. The business has a strong culture of safety best practice and continuous learning. The team set a standard that has now been recognised by the wider industry.

Jets senior managers are all fully engaged in moving forward fleet and road safety actions raised by employees. They make frequent site visits, as well as actively progressing and reporting actions raised during their monthly management meetings.  

“As a direct result we’ve seen zero fatalities and no work-related road injuries in the last three years. 360-degree cameras and telematics are reviewed immediately after any incidents and random checks are carried out on vehicles returning to the yard, to ensure no incident goes unreported. We’re very proud of receiving the award, but we certainly won’t be getting complacent, if anything it simply re-affirms our commitment to maintaining the very highest standards.”
