The Landmark London Hotel and The Skills Network launch employee mental health courses

The Skills Network, the UK’s largest online learning provider, has joined forces with 5-star luxury hotel The Landmark London, to offer its 200 strong workforce a selection of nationally certified mental health courses.

With experience of working with the likes of BrewDog and the NHS, The Skills Network is partnering with The Landmark London to provide online courses for its employees before their return to work on May 17th. The fully funded courses are available to the 25 staff who have continued to work through the pandemic as well as to the remaining 175 on furlough.

Understanding the stresses and anxieties that may have been caused during lockdown and with The Landmark London always having mental health on their agenda, they saw partnering with The Skills Network as a great learning opportunity to reskill, retrain and reward their staff. Hotel employees will have free access to a level 1 Mental Health Awareness course before their return to work, with plans to extend to level 2 and 3 once they re-open in May.

James Earl, Executive Director of Sales at The Skills Network, said: “With the past year having a massive effect on the hospitality industry, The Landmark London approached The Skills Network to help provide employees with the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of mental health, spot early signs of poor mental health and potentially be able to prevent individuals from suffering in silence.

“It’s really exciting to work with a 5-star hotel like The Landmark London and to be able to deliver programmes that will benefit the employees’ wellbeing and skillsets. This will enable them to build knowledge within the business whilst rewarding staff by investing in learning and development.”

Nicola Forshaw, Director of Human Resources at The Landmark London added: “We are so proud of all team members at The Landmark London, especially after the last 12 months. We are completely invested in our workforce, we want them to have the best experience whilst working with us and we wanted to give back to them to prepare for their return to work.

“With The Skills Network, our employees are not only benefitting from gaining national qualifications but also have access to a topic that is so important to our business. They helped us identify our training needs and develop a framework that suits the business as a whole.”
