Thai Leisure Group create specialist roles to address industry skills gap
Restaurant group, Thai Leisure Group, is tackling the UK’s hospitality skills gap issue head-on, by creating a range of specialist roles, which will focus on upskilling existing staff across its four national restaurant chains.
The new roles include a Group Bar Manager and Training Manager (for both Chaophraya and Thaikhun). Each of the roles will be focussed on implementing a strategy to help upskill staff across Thai Leisure Group’s 18 restaurants, which include – Chaophraya, Thaikhun, Yee Rah and Chaobaby.
Thai Leisure Group’s latest recruitment drive, follows the announcement from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which shows the hospitality sector has seen the biggest increase in job vacancies of any sector, compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Ian Leigh, Managing Director at Thai Leisure Group, said: “It’s no secret that the hospitality industry is crying out for people to fill-up the hundreds of vacancies available across the country, but we’ve decided to take this time, to step back, and to tackle this issue head-on.
“At Thai Leisure Group, we believe in investing heavily in our people, which is why we’ve decided to create these new positions, which are purely focused on helping our existing team to grow and develop in their roles.
“We’re still on the look-out for our Thaikhun Training Manager, who will need to be the ultimate Ha Doa (5 star) ambassador for the brand.
