RAW Charging announced as principle sponsor of Oxford City FC in ground-breaking deal
Oxford City FC has announced RAW Charging as the club’s new principal sponsor on a multi-year contract.
The football club’s home has been re-named as the RAW Charging Stadium as part of the sustainability-based community partnership. The electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator will install its largest Charge Yard in the UK to date at the stadium for the community to use to charge EVs. The suite of charging points at the Marston based multi-purpose community venue will help significantly improve EV charging infrastructure in Oxford and improve air quality in the region.
RAW Charging will also appear on the first-team men’s home and away kits as part of the historic partnership for the National League South club. The club today (Mon) unveiled its new home kit in partnership with RAW Charging.
Justin Merritt, Director of Football at Oxford City FC said: “This is a ground-breaking partnership for not just the football club, but for our community. We are committed to making the club sustainable and providing the community with first class infrastructure and facilities and this partnership helps deliver that.
“We are proud to have partnered with the UK’s leading EV charge point company that is at the forefront of carbon-free innovation in the sustainability industry. The vision RAW Charging has to implement sustainable infrastructure across Oxford is exciting and we are proud to be the home of its first EV charging hub in the city.”
Bruce Galliford, CEO of RAW Charging, said: “We’re excited to be working with Oxford City Football Club to launch a new Charge Yard and to sponsor them as a team. RAW’s roots are in Oxford, although we now operate across Europe, so it is great to work and support the local team, Oxford City Council and the wider community. This is the second Charge Yard we have launched, with many more to come and we look forward to providing affordable and reliable EV charging to the people of Oxford.”
The partnership is the first time in the club’s history that a company has committed to both front of shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights.
Caroline O’Connor, Partnership Manager at Oxford City FC, said: “It is testament to the direction the club is going in and we are looking forward to a successful long-term relationship together. RAW
Charging is an ambitious company and we are pleased to have forged such an exciting partnership.”
Based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, RAW Charging is one of the largest UK providers of electric vehicle charging solutions and infrastructure for the UK’s net zero future.
