MOBILE payments and interactive services company Fonix says a new website designed by creative agency Milk & Tweed is a major step forward in its growth plan.
The 16-year-old London-based company is one of the major players in the mobile payments and messaging sector, with more than 100 clients across the UK, Ireland, Austria and Germany in the media, charity, transport and ticketing and digital services markets. Among them are ITV, BT, Global, Bauer Media, Comic Relief and Children in Need.
In the 2021/22 financial year it processed more than £250 million in payments made via mobile phone bills or phone credit for services including competition entries, donations, car parking, gaming and bus tickets and is responsible for a third of the total UK Carrier Billing and SMS market.
Head of Marketing Hannah Giles said the company, which publicly listed in 2020, turned to Wiltshire based Milk & Tweed to design and build a new website and refresh its brand. “With our recent growth we felt our brand didn’t reflect who we are now and the markets we operate in so we wanted a refresh,” she said.
“We wanted to take a few steps back and look at the different audiences we talk to. We have a website audience of investors, consumers, clients and prospects and we needed something that spoke well to all of them.”
Milk & Tweed Creative Director Jake Jeffries said: “We were all very excited about the opportunity to work with a company like Fonix, not only the size of the business and their reputation, but their technology and services are fantastic.
“While working on our pitch this excitement only grew, as during our design process we could really visualise how fantastic this project could look – and I am so proud of the team and the project we have all produced.”
The design team modernised the Fonix logo, designed and built a brand new website and filled it with extra content to showcase the company’s products and services to demonstrate why companies will benefit from working with it.
“We wanted the site to talk about the experience and expertise of our people within the markets where we operate – it was important to get that across and I think we’ve now done that,” said Ms Giles.
She said working with Milk & Tweed had been a smooth process. “They immediately understood what we were about and took the time to understand how we work and what we needed,” she said. “They were very attentive and communicated well to make sure we were happy with what was being produced.”
She said the new site will be a key tool in continuing its growth. “It is more feature-rich, with lots more content, especially around our products,” she said.
Milk & Tweed Head of Design Jamie Lawton said: “It’s been fantastic working with a company like Fonix and Hannah’s feedback throughout the process has ensured the new branding and website properly represent who they are as a company.
“Fonix develop incredible products and solutions for an impressive list of clients so we wanted to take their branding and website to the next level and properly align Fonix alongside those clients. The new look is bright and modern, with visuals to help showcase their products in a more exciting way – and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”
