An airsoft game can have many variants – depending on what kind of sport it belongs to.Speedsoft is one of them and has been gaining in popularity recently. This is one of the most dynamic games that require us to be fit and physically active. At the same time, they’re short, so they don’t take much time and are easier to fit into your busy schedule. Speedsoft is not for everyone, but its fanbase is constantly growing and it’s worth learning about it.
What does a speedsoft game look like?
Speedsoft is about competing against several players and teams, but it’s much faster and more dynamic – compared to other airsoft game types. It favours aggressive tactics in which you run around a lot and sometimes have to overcome various obstacles. There is also a lot of crawling, jumping or performing slides. Hence the need to be in good shape to be able to effectively perform all these tasks, all while providing support for your team.
Fast reflexes are also a must. There is no time to stop and think, so we have to analyze the game on the fly if we want to beat our opponent. The game ends when all the players belonging to the competing team have been hit. Airsoft replicas of weapons and various accessories are utilized in speedsoft, but not all equipment is suitable for this type of game. Our equipment must therefore be adapted to this type of game.
Speedsoft equipment and accessories
Speedsoft does not focus on simulating scenarios of real firefights, military or police operations, which is why tactical equipment is not used to such a large extent like in standard airsoft games. Freedom of movement and the ability to act quickly is important, so we can’t be too heavily burdened with accessories – in the form of, for example, plate carrier vests, helmets or full uniforms. Many players wear plain jeans, a shirt and trainers – comfort is key, and the less gear the better. Alternatively, light equipment belts and chest-rig vests are used, in which we can place spare magazines with BBs and CO2 cartridges.
The airsoft replica that we will use during the game must have good maneuverability and not hinder our movements. For this reason, pistol airsoft replicas, compact carbines and airsoft SMG are chosen rather than full-size long airsoft replica models. What is also important is a good rate of fire of our airsoft replica and a big magazine that will not have to be reloaded as often. Replicas used in CQB usually get the job done. The smaller and light the better.
