Engenera’s success generates new jobs in the North East
One of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies, Newcastle-based Engenera Renewables Group, is currently on a major recruitment drive as it continues to rollout ambitious UK-wide expansion plans.
The recruitment drive will generate a significant number of high-quality jobs in the North East region, and follows several key hires made recently by the company on the back of completing the first phase of one of England’s largest ever solar projects.
Engenera is an award-winning renewable energy specialist, offering design and installation of all the latest renewable technologies, with a particular expertise in solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage installation. The company works as a holistic decarbonisation partner with domestic and commercial customers looking to reduce their carbon emissions and operate using cleaner, greener – and often cheaper – energy.
The Group’s latest expansion comes as demand for solar PV rooftop installations experiences spectacular growth – more than doubling over the past twelve months.
New data collected by MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) – the UK standards organisation for homegrown renewable energy and heating technology – shows a total of 130,596 installations during 2022. This is the largest number of small-scale system installations than any year since 2015, and more than twice the amount installed in 2021. In further context, the number of installations seen during 2022 was almost the same as the three previous years (2019 – 2021) combined.
In addition, January 2023 set a new post-subsidy monthly record – with 16,043 MCS registrations – representing a three-fold increase on the same time last year. It is widely agreed that this growth has been driven mainly by the energy price crisis and a consumer desire to use sustainable, renewable energy sources.
This will come as especially welcome news within the North East of England, as a recent poll commissioned by pro-growth campaign group, Britain Remade, showed that 91 % of people in the region support renewable energy generation in their community, by installing more solar panels on homes.
To accommodate this rise in demand, Engenera has embarked on a major drive to help even more individuals and businesses reduce their carbon emissions and save money. It works with clients on a range of renewable technologies, including commercial solar PV and battery storage, air and ground source heat pumps, combined heat and power, electric vehicle charging points and LED lighting, creating a holistic, sustainable renewable energy solution tailored to the clients’ needs.
To fulfil its fast-growing order book, it is now recruiting for several executive and management positions to fill roles at its headquarters in the North East, and help it deliver its growing pipeline of domestic and commercial renewables projects across the UK.
As well as generating jobs in the North East, the company has also recently opened an office in Glasgow and pledged to create a further 20 positions.
