The London HR Connection is delighted to welcome you along to our next live and ‘in person’ networking event held in conjunction with leading law firm, Kingsley Napley.
As well as the chance to network face to face over a glass or two of wine and something to eat, we will be joined by HR industry leaders and employment law and mental health experts to discuss and debate mental health issues in the context of performance management.
We are all mental beings as much as we are physical. We all have mental wellbeing issues from time to time as well as physical wellbeing issues. Mental health issues affect performance at work and, in today’s world, probably much more than physical health issues. It can be enormously difficult for employers to deal with employees, particularly in a probation period, if they are not performing and then it becomes clear or it is notified to them that the person has a mental health condition.
An employee having a mental health condition does not prevent an employer from taking action in relation to poor performance, but this can be very tricky to navigate. In this interactive session we will consider dealing with mental health issues in the context of performance management. Our experts will explore, by discussing specific examples and inviting comments from the audience, how that can be done whilst complying with the law and ensuring that appropriate reasonable adjustments are made, both generally and specifically in relation to any performance management process.
Our panel will include:
