Laytons ETL appoints Rebekah Parker as Managing Partner

Rebekah-Parker

Laytons ETL has announced the appointment of Rebekah Partner as Managing Partner. She will be the first woman to hold the role at the internationally focused commercial law firm, which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Ms Parker joined Laytons ETL as a trainee in 2008, qualifying into its disputes department in 2010. She gained higher rights of audience in 2021, enabling her to represent clients in court as a solicitor-advocate, and has been a disputes partner since 2018.

For the past six months she has held the role of Deputy Managing Partner, and is taking the reins at the City of London firm as David Jones steps back from the position of Managing Partner to focus on his role as UK Head of Legal at the international professional services network ETL GLOBAL UK.

As Managing Partner, Ms Parker will spearhead the implementation of the firm’s growth strategy. Her appointment takes effect from this month.

Laytons ETL has ambitious plans to achieve turnover of £20 million by 2027. In 2024 it increased its revenues by 24.5 per cent on the previous year, to £11.7 million.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Parker said, “Having begun my career at Laytons as a trainee, I’m honoured to be appointed Managing Partner. I’m proud to be the first woman to take on this role and will draw on my personal experiences to guide my approach to leadership.

“I’m committed to maintaining the firm’s strong foundations of excellence, collaboration and global reach, and excited about working with our talented teams to shape the future of the firm and support our clients through the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Laytons ETL is a full-service commercial law firm which is particularly well-known for its work in dispute resolution, real estate, employment, intellectual property, tax, and private wealth and philanthropy work.

Across its practice areas, Laytons ETL has a strong reputation for its focus on, and expertise in, complex multi-jurisdiction matters. It has, since 2021, been part of the ETL GLOBAL network, members of which employ more than 28,000 people worldwide.

In 2024 the firm moved to new Grade A offices on Cannon Street, which can accommodate a doubling of staff numbers as it implements its growth plans. It currently employs 90 people.

David Jones, UK Head of Legal at ETL GLOBAL UK, said, “Rebekah is an exceptional litigator and also a fantastic leader who I am confident will be more than equal to the task of guiding the firm to the next level, both in terms of its financial targets and its ongoing development as a key player in the mid-market both in the UK and worldwide.”
