Personio launches Digital HR Accelerator Program to drive digitalization of people processes in Europe’s SMEs

Personio has today announced a €1.2 million drive to spur the adoption of the latest digital HR technologies in Europe’s small and mid-sized organizations. Personio’s Digital HR Accelerator Program will allow companies to kick-start recovery from the Coronavirus crisis and ensure they can steal a march on rivals competing for talent.

Throughout November and December Personio will give SMEs tailored support in transforming their HR practices through digitalizing and automating people processes. Examples include working with companies to build integrations with new applications, or using external consultants to move digital transformation projects even faster. Businesses will also be able to work with Personio experts on a one-to-one basis to ensure they are making the most of the latest in HR software, including people workflow automation technology, to improve the way they work.

Hanno Renner, CEO and Founder of Personio, said: “We want to help European SMEs to bounce back from the coronavirus crisis stronger than ever before. While the response to Covid-19 put HR teams at the forefront of business strategy, the proliferation of digital tools now makes it difficult to manage cross-organisational flows of data relating to people. That’s why we are not only launching new technologies that use automation to take some of the strain, but also investing in equipping HR teams with the knowledge and applications to navigate a digital world.”

SMEs are the backbone of the European economy but lag behind their larger rivals in their use of HR technology to attract, retain and grow talent, often due to resource and budget constraints. In a highly competitive jobs market where 38% of employees are looking to change roles in the next twelve months, this gap is dangerous for SMEs.

The coronavirus pandemic saw a rapid shift to digital processes across Europe’s SMEs to support remote working, with organisations now using an average of 40+ tools that touch people data. This fragmentation poses challenges for HR professionals. Now, processes must be managed across multiple applications and teams, resulting in delays and missed opportunities. Increased digitization and people workflow automation can help HR teams take a more strategic approach, driving business success.

Ross Seychell, Chief People Officer at Personio, said: “We have seen HR teams rise to the challenge during the pandemic, but it’s vital that they now think long term about how they work with existing and future employees. Using digital infrastructure that makes people processes simpler and automated is a key step that SMEs should take to help their HR teams prepare for the future of distributed working. We are excited to be able to help SMEs across Europe take advantage of the latest services and technologies through our accelerator program.”
