Ynysawdre Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre achieves ‘Very Good’ rating at recent leisure inspection

Social enterprise and charity organisation, Halo Leisure, who run the leisure centres and swimming pools across the County on behalf of Bridgend County Borough Council is delighted to announce that its centre in Ynysawdre received a ‘Very Good’ rating from Quest, the UK’s leading leisure and sports industry quality assurance organisation.
“Our 2000+ customers who enjoy a work out in our pool, gym or studio, regularly tell us that we are very good but it is always reassuring to have this reinforced by an external third party such as Quest.”
said Centre Manager, Andrew Kingdom.
Quest is a recognised improvement program within the leisure industry, and its meticulous assessments, test the very best of leisure centres in the UK. The assessment looks at various aspects of a leisure centre’s performance, including customer service and the quality of its services. Recently, the Quest team conducted an unannounced review of the facility where it assessed areas such as:
- Customer Experience
- Cleanliness and Housekeeping
- Environmental Management
- Planning to improve
- Team & Skills Development
- Community Outcomes
There were positives for the centre’s welcoming atmosphere and the team’s dedication to delivering excellent customer service as well.
Andrew went on to say:
“We are delighted with this award. At Halo, our mission is to provide first-class leisure and fitness facility for the community by enhancing the health and well-being of our local residents. The ‘Very Good’ rating is proof of the hard work of the team but we are always looking for ways to get more people more active more often and to raise standards. The report highlighted some areas we need to work on such as eco-awareness and practises and the team are working hard to address these.”
