The Ivy comes to Cardiff with first Welsh restaurant opening

The Ivy Collection is delighted to announce the opening of its first brasserie in Wales this winter.  Located within the heart of Cardiff on The Hayes at St David’s Cardiff, and catering for over 260 guests across two stunning floors, The Ivy Cardiff will offer sophisticated yet friendly all-day dining in a beautiful setting.

The brasserie will be open seven days a week from morning until night, offering an idyllic location whatever the occasion. As well as the main restaurant and central bar situated on the ground floor, The Ivy Cardiff will also feature a stunning first floor bar complete with striking and colourful interiors, delicious cocktails, and a private dining space for up to 24 guests.

The Ivy Cardiff’s brasserie-style menus will be all-encompassing, serving modern British classics, including breakfast, coffees, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails. Delicious dishes featuring a selection of seasonal ingredients and flavours will include the likes of the iconic Ivy shepherd’s pie, warming white onion soup with truffle mascarpone and toasted brioche, and lemon sole on the bone with Beurre noisette, lemon, caper and parsley. Sitting alongside the food menus will be an exciting series of locally inspired drinks and an extensive Champagne and wine list for those looking to enjoy cocktails late into the evening.

Alongside the eclectic dining and drinks menus, visitors will be able to experience beautiful interiors, with notable features including artwork inspired by Wales and Cardiff’s history, local topography and heritage, bold and colourful prints, and comfortable leather banquettes and soft furnishings.

Baton Berisha, Managing Director at The Ivy Collection says: “We are incredibly excited to be opening our first restaurant in Wales this winter, bringing a touch of Ivy magic to Cardiff. The team – headed up by General Manager Josh Butler and Head Chef Bartek Byba – is fantastic and the restaurant itself will offer a beautiful destination for all occasions.”

Speaking on behalf of the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Landsec and intu, Russell Loveland, Senior Portfolio Director for Landsec, said: “We look forward to welcoming The Ivy Collection to Cardiff for its Welsh debut. This iconic restaurant is a fantastic addition to St David’s, its fine dining and unique atmosphere providing something new and exciting to the destination.  We expect the internationally renowned brunch and all-day dining offer will be a firm favourite with the discerning Cardiff customer.”
