Kettering General Hospital is on a recruitment drive for nurses seeking a better work-life balance out of the City

Kettering General Hospital has launched a new recruitment campaign to attract city-based registered nurses, across different specialities to Northamptonshire to enjoy a better quality of life and more affordable living, but with excellent career progression in a smaller, community hospital.

Kettering General Hospital covers a large part of the Northamptonshire area, with outpatient clinics in Corby, Wellingborough and Rushden, as well as Kettering General itself. The hospital has 600 beds and 17 theatres, employs around 4,000 staff and is one of the largest employers in Northampton.

The hospital offers a wide range of training and development opportunities to staff throughout their careers. The hospital understands the importance of striking a good work-life balance too. They actively seek wherever possible, to offer hours and patterns of work that suit nurses’ personal circumstances.

The excellence and hard work of staff is also rewarded with the monthly CARE Smile Awards, with nominations received from patients, their relatives, managers and staff, plus the hospital has an annual Employee Excellence and Long Service awards.

Rebecca Bell, HR Manager Workforce Planning at Kettering General Hospital says, “We want to boost our nursing team in a range of specialities. We are a forward-thinking Trust and offer the opportunity for nurses who are frustrated with the high living costs associated with living in a big city the chance to relocate to an area where they can flourish in their career and lifestyle.”

“Our Trust offers great career prospects in a super friendly and supportive work environment. Nurses can often progress here quickly and will have exposure to potentially more clinical areas than a larger hospital. We are focused on ensuring our staff have a good work-life balance too. Having a healthy and happy workforce is important to us and we offer several initiatives to support wellbeing.”

“Northamptonshire is a lovely county. with beautiful countryside, green spaces, pretty market towns and affordable housing. It also has easy access to other parts of the UK like London and Birmingham. We encourage nurses who are looking for a change of pace and a better quality of life to apply.”

There are several nurse vacancies including a Band 5 nurse to work on an acute respiratory ward caring for acutely ill adults, a Registered nurse to join a fast-paced emergency unit for acute surgical admissions, including general surgery, urology and ENT and a Registered nurse to join a trauma and orthopaedics ward.
