Advanced, which acquired CareWorks in November 2019, has entered into a six-year contract with Hampshire County Council, one of the largest local authorities in England, to transform its adult social care case management. Following a competitive process, it has chosen CareDirector to support the effective and efficient management of adult social care.
Nearly 2,000 staff will use the Cloud-based case management solution, including social workers, case workers, occupational therapists, nurses, and public health practitioners. They will use the solution as their principal case management tool, allowing them to record the work they are undertaking with individuals and extract data to support planning and decision making.
Graham Allen, Director of Adults’ Health and Care at Hampshire County Council, comments: “We face many challenges and pressures in the social care sector, and we have a hugely dedicated workforce who deliver quality services and support, with the needs of vulnerable people, carers and their families at the heart of our delivery. This new solution will enable our multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate more than ever before, streamlining processes and simplifying activities, reducing the time colleagues currently spend on case recording and enable them to spend more time delivering and focusing on the best outcomes for our more vulnerable residents. It will also facilitate mobile and flexible working which, given the current crisis, is incredibly important.”
CareDirector is specifically designed for social care organisations and was recently re-designed to put the user at its core. It includes a full customisation layer, which gives customers the flexibility to make changes to the application locally. This reduces the cost of ownership and future proofs the technology. CareDirector’s open architecture means it can also be easily integrated with other health partners across social care, mental health and the community.
What’s more, with Covid-19 impacting how and where people work for the foreseeable future, enabling staff to work flexibly is more important than ever. CareDirector’s mobile app works both online and offline, helping staff to efficiently manage caseloads and complete tasks as though they were in the office. A series of portals deliver self-directed support, meaning clients and their families can access their profile instantly and securely. In addition, it offers powerful dashboards to help users identify trends, create reports and make clinical decisions.
“CareDirector is a fantastic case management solution for social care organisations, which is why we brought it into the Advanced family after acquiring CareWorks last year,” says Ric Thompson, Managing Director – Health & Care, at Advanced. “The solution will support Hampshire County Council to improve the efficiency of its working practices, giving more time back to those who use its services. It’s fit-for-purpose and, with built-in flexibility, will accommodate future change. We are really looking forward to working with the authority to implement the solution ready for summer 2021.”
The new deal with Advanced is one key component in Hampshire County Council’s wider digital transformation agenda designed to support the efficient delivery of essential services to over 1.3 million residents.
