RGB raises over £8,000 for air ambulance charities

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to have raised a fantastic £8,400 for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust and Devon Air Ambulance over the last 12 months.

The support RGB received for its fundraising efforts was overwhelming despite the COVID-19 pandemic having affected how its branches operate. The money was raised from the sale of RGB’s ‘Love where you live’ charity calendar, donations to its branches and the sale of promotional ‘bulk bags’. The bags are used to carry large quantities of aggregates, such as sand, crushed stone and gravel, and RGB had pledged to donate 25p from the sale of bags that carried the charities’ logos; 13,600 bags were sold in the 12-month period.

Since selecting the two air ambulance charities as partners in 2019, RGB has raised over £14,000 to help support the services both give to people in our region.

Sherelle Puertas, Fundraising Officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, commented:

“A huge thank you to the wonderful team at RGB Building Supplies for raising an incredible amount for two local charities, Cornwall Air Ambulance and our colleagues at Devon Air Ambulance. It’s been an incredibly challenging year, and this fantastic amount will really help towards lifesaving missions across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The support has truly meant the world to us!”

Tracy Owen, Business Support Engagement Officer at Devon Air Ambulance, said:

“We are so grateful to everyone at RGB for their continued fundraising efforts throughout the past year. Despite the challenges they faced during the pandemic, they have remained committed supporters of Devon Air Ambulance and have raised an amazing amount of money.

“We would also like to thank those people who either purchased bulk bags from RGB or one of the ‘Love where you live’ charity calendars. Their contribution has made a huge difference to the fundraising total and the service we provide.”

Kevin Fenlon, CEO of RGB, added:

“We would like to thank all our customers, staff and the local community for supporting our fundraising activities for  Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust and Devon Air Ambulance. It’s only with their help that we’ve been able to raise as much as we have these past 12 months.”
