An event in Hereford this month will bring together local, regional and national companies to help people find jobs and reduce unemployment across the county.

The Hereford Job Fair – organised by award-winning supported employment and training charity Landau – will showcase more than 500 job vacancies across multiple sectors including retail, construction and hospitality.

The free event on October 21st will be held at the Kindle Centre and will be an opportunity for individuals out of work or looking for their next challenge to speak to employers face-to-face about potential opportunities on offer.

Sonia Roberts, Chief Executive of Landau, said this event could play a huge role in helping to reduce unemployment levels across the county by supporting people who are currently out of work or looking for a career change.

“This is a great opportunity for employers to speak to local individuals about their skills, talents and aspirations for work whilst at the same time giving people the chance to explore the wide variety of jobs currently available,” she said.

“With the furlough scheme coming to an end we are aware that many people may be looking for work and we would encourage anyone who is currently unemployed to come along and take advantage of meeting employers and finding out about the jobs they have on offer.

“We have local, regional and national businesses attending so the opportunities will be wide ranging. Our team of specialist employment advisers will also be available on the day for anyone needing support to help them access employment.

“They work on a day-to-day basis with individuals who have found it difficult to get jobs for many reasons including disability, illness, mental ill health or learning barriers and can help individuals with a tailored support plan to get them into work or training.”

The event will take place between 10am and 2pm and people are invited to drop in throughout the day.
