Sigma Connected bolsters senior management team

A leading business outsourcing provider has announced the appointment of a new senior director who will support and develop the company’s renowned offshore offering in South Africa.

Sigma Connected, which offers expertise in customer contact, collections and sales across the energy, water, retail, financial services and telecommunications sectors, has appointed industry specialist Bevin Sandras to the role of Director of International Operations.

Bevin joins Sigma Connected from US-owned business SubjectWell where he was Director of Call Centre Operations. With established links across the BPO sector, Bevin also worked as the Operations Director for Capita in Cape Town where he was in charge of offshore clients in the telecommunications, retail and energy sectors.

With over 16 years’ experience working across the outsourcing market, South Africa-born Bevin will report to the Group’s Chief Operating Officer Mike Harfield with a brief to ensure Sigma’s offshore call centres in South Africa continue to create a best practice environment for its clients and its employees.

Mike Harfield said: “Bevin is a respected and well-connected industry expert across the BPO sector so attracting him to Sigma Connected is an important appointment for us as we look to grow our offshoring capabilities and credentials even further in the months and years ahead.

“Bevin will spreadhead plans to improve our already world-leading contact centre offering by fostering relationships and really developing our teams in Western Cape and further afield as we expand. Like us, he is obsessed with developing and nurturing people so he is a first-class addition to our leadership team. I am delighted to welcome him to the Group.”

Bevin Sandras added: “Sigma Connected is already hugely well positioned in the international BPO market. I am proud to have the opportunity to help bolster Sigma’s credentials in its offshoring operation in South Africa where the company has a superb, inclusive culture.

“I have a strong understanding of local cultures and that will help us adapt to the markets that we serve, including through initiatives such as impact sourcing. It’s no secret that Sigma has a superb reputation as a great employer so I am also focusing strongly on continuing to develop  our team so we can be a truly world class operation for our clients.”

Bevin’s appointment comes just weeks after Sigma Connected, which is headquartered in Birmingham, announced that respected industry expert David Neale was taking up a new position in the Group to spearhead Sigma Connected South Africa, an arm of the company focusing on the country’s domestic market.

Sigma Connected was recently shortlisted in 10 categories for the 2022 Cape BPO Awards in South African which take place in May.
