Former UK diplomat, Andrew Fulton, has been appointed Executive Chairman at leading strategic intelligence and corporate security firm, KCS Group Europe (KCSGE).
Other senior appointments have also been announced by the Group today.
Former Chief Financial Officer, Sue Kennedy (pictured above), takes up the position of Chief Operating Officer for the growing global business.
KCS Group Europe, headquartered in London, is a leading provider of risk, intelligence, and security services. It assists governments and businesses, and supports charities around the world.
Andrew Fulton joined the existing KCSGE team as Co-Chairman in January 2022, but now takes on an enhanced board role.
Andrew has previously held senior roles at GPW Ltd, Control Risks, Armor Group, Memex Technology and Indigovision. He will assist with the development of KCS Group Europe’s markets worldwide, with a focus on Scotland and the United States.
As a diplomat, Andrew completed postings in Saigon, Rome, East Berlin, Oslo, the UK Mission to the UN in New York and in Washington DC.
Andrew is currently Honorary President (formerly Founding Chairman) of the Scottish North American Business Council, and Chairman to both Validate ID Ltd and Transatlantica Partners Ltd. He is a former Chairman of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
Commenting on his new position Andrew Fulton said: “I am delighted to be taking on this new and expanded role for KCS Group Europe. I’m also looking forward to building new networks and markets, particularly in my home country of Scotland and in the United States where I spent nearly a decade in the latter part of my diplomatic career.
“The need for unparalleled and reliable strategic intelligence and risk analysis for today’s businesses has rarely been greater. KCS Group Europe advises our clients with detailed risk advice and research and on-the-ground intelligence which few, in a crowded marketplace, can match.”
Sue Kennedy has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at KCS Group Europe just 3 months after taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer.
As a Chartered Accountant with thirty years’ experience, Sue brings a wealth of knowledge to her position. She has worked in a range of business sectors, including professional services, hospitality and charities.
Sue worked at the Ellerman Hotel Casino (formerly the Ritz Hotel Casino) for 12 years, where she was Finance Director and was involved in the compliance side of the business.
In that role, Sue had a responsibility to ensure the regulatory obligations relating to finance were met. In addition, she was heavily involved in corporate governance.
KCS Group Europe also welcomes Jonathan Lack as the new acting Head of Intelligence. He holds a BA in Russian and History from the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies and specialises in conducting research in Russian and Spanish. Jonathan keeps a keen eye on current affairs in Eastern European and Latin American markets, with a particular focus on Russia domestically and internationally.
Stuart Poole-Robb, CEO of KCS Group Europe, said: “Andrew and Sue have been extremely strong additions to the Group, and I am delighted that they are taking up new leadership positions.
“As part of our ongoing growth strategy, we will be actively supporting Scottish businesses this year, with a physical presence in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
“Andrew’s extensive experience and business reputation is fundamental to our continued success, while Sue will ensure that our global operations are as effective and efficient as possible.
“Jonathan brings specialist skills and experience to the KCS Group, to lead the current team of analysts during this troubled time. He will be handling and managing current, difficult and sensitive global issues across Eastern Europe, the Middle East and in the Asia Pacific region.”
