Inspirational Tamworth director Andrea bags awards shortlisting
A Tamworth business owner who fought back to health after a stroke that left her unable to walk, speak or care for herself is a finalist in a prestigious awards scheme celebrating unsung heroes across the UK.
Andrea Rainsford has made the shortlist for the Multicultural Business & Community Champion awards, set to be held on Saturday, November 30 in Birmingham.
The recognition is in honour of her work helping empower fellow women company directors and aspiring business owners.
Andrea, 51, battled her health setbacks for 17 years after suffering her stroke aged 32, and launched her successful former venture, SEO Angel. Last year she launched her company, Andrea Rainsford Creating Business Growth.
Her Women Winning in Business Community is thriving since being established last year after she was again unable to work, this time because of a throat tumour.
The community supports women across the UK in what’s now dubbed a ‘transformative space’, helping with both business and life goals.
She said: “It is a huge honour and privilege to have reached the final of these wonderfully motivating awards. I never do what I do with awards in mind but help from my heart and am blessed to be surrounded by some many fabulous women.”
Andrea’s nomination for the Most Inspirational Person award recognises not only her personal achievements but also her ability to inspire and uplift those around her
She added: ““I’m not going to lie. My recovery was tough. There were so many times I wanted to quit, but I didn’t.
“Every time I got knocked down, I just got back up again, which is something I still do today.
The MBCC Awards, which celebrate outstanding contributions within business and community sectors, will be held in November 2024.
MBCC awards founder Zoe Bennett BEM, said she was thrilled to welcome Andrea to the selected finalists’ list decided on by judges including Married at First Sight’s life coach and expert Paul Brunson and Good Morning Britain presenter Marverine Cole.
“I’d like to offer my warm wishes and congratulations to Andrea on this achievement and for her dedication to truly making a difference to others,” Zoe added.
