ScaleUp Radio celebrates 500th episode milestone with launch of new founder community

Worcester-based business podcast, ScaleUp Radio, has reached a major milestone with the release of its 500th episode.

Since its launch in Autumn 2018, the show has become a trusted voice among UK business leaders and founders navigating the challenges of scaling up, offering real, honest conversations with founders still in the thick of it, not just looking back from the top.

Hosted by Kevin Brent, founder of BizSmart®, and Granger Forson, director of Smart90 and BizSmart Gloucestershire franchisee, ScaleUp Radio is based on the real-world strategies of BizSmart’s ScaleUp Framework [ESUS]. The podcast has helped hundreds of SME leaders from across industries, providing them with the space to share their setbacks, breakthroughs and lessons in real time.

To mark the 500th episode, BizSmart is launching ‘ScaleUp Radio Connect’, an invite-only network that brings together past guests for curated introductions and purposeful collaboration. Powered by AI, it is designed to turn shared insights into new business connections and opportunities for peer-led growth.

Kevin Brent, founder of BizSmart and host of ScaleUp Radio, said: “When we started ScaleUp Radio, we wanted to cut through the noise and give business owners something real, with honest stories from those still in the trenches.

“Reaching 500 episodes is a testament to the power of shared experience. With ScaleUp Radio Connect, we’re taking it one step further by turning insightful interviews into meaningful relationships that fuel growth.”

Over the past seven years, ScaleUp Radio has evolved into a living archive of UK business growth. Listener favourites have ranged from safety expert Himmat Rai’s long-term vision, to Amy Marshall’s people-first fitness business, to Greg Baldwin’s commitment to leadership in high-risk industries.

More recent standout episodes have featured Mark Wright of Climb Online on belief and ambition, Jay Clements of English Holiday Cruises on service excellence and Dr Serge Santos, The Business Physicist, on scaling with purpose and operational discipline. Each guest has brought a unique perspective, but a shared willingness to speak openly, think strategically and lead with authenticity.

The podcast has also featured the stories of entrepreneurs like Jennifer Appleton of ISO Quality Services, Daniel Walton of OLPRO, Juliet Barratt of Grenade and many others who embody what it really means to scale – staying true to your values while facing the challenges of growth head on.

The 500th episode and full archive of ScaleUp Radio are available to listen to via Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and Libsyn.
