Stamp duty savings available on last few homes for sale in Warboys

Homebuyers in Warboys have been taking advantage of huge stamp duty savings at a new housing development in the village, with just two homes now remaining for sale.

There’s a final choice of four and five-bedroom detached houses available to buy at Bellway’s The Furrows development, with each due to be ready to move into before the end of the Government’s stamp duty holiday on 30 June.

With prices for the last four homes ranging between £469,995 and £495,995, prospective buyers who are able to complete their purchase before the deadline can save between £13,500 and £14,800 on the cost of moving.

Bellway has delivered 74 new-build homes at The Furrows, 45 for private sale and 29 provided as affordable housing for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Rachael Gatehouse, Sales Manager for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “Homebuyers have wasted no time in making sure they save thousands during the stamp duty holiday and this demand means we’re now down to the final two properties for sale at The Furrows.

“There are a choice of four and five-bedroom detached house types which are ideal for growing families or those looking for more space to work from home. They will all be ready to move into before the end of June, so those able to complete before then will be able to take advantage of the stamp duty holiday before it ends.

“Buyers who’ve already moved into their new homes at The Furrows are enjoying the development’s idyllic location in the village of Warboys, surrounded by picturesque countryside and with excellent local shops and services nearby.

“I’d encourage anyone hoping to secure one of the final properties for sale here to get in touch without delay, or they risk missing out.”

Housebuilder donates £1,000 to cancer charity

A Cambridgeshire-based housebuilder has donated £1,000 to Cancer Research UK to mark then launch of its newest development in the county.

Bellway Eastern Counties, whose divisional office is in Huntingdon, made the donation as it officially opened the sales office at Bassingbourn Fields, a new development of 100 homes in Fordham, on Saturday 17 October.

Gill Burgess, Local Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research UK East Anglia, was invited to cut the ribbon at the event before accepting a cheque on behalf of the charity from Bellway Sales Manager, Rachael Gatehouse.

Cancer Research UK became Bellway’s nominated charity in 2016, and since then the housebuilder has raised a total of more than £1.6 million across each of its divisions and head office.

Gill said: “We have formed a fantastic relationship with Bellway over the past few years and we are extremely grateful for their continued support. It was a pleasure to cut the ribbon to officially open the Bassingbourn Fields development and, of course, to receive this generous donation, which will help our continued efforts to beat cancer.

“It is no secret that the coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on many charities, including Cancer Research UK, and we are therefore more reliant than ever on the generosity of businesses and individuals to enable us to carry out the vital research which will help to save lives.”

Rhiannon Jones, Head of Sales for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “We are immensely proud to have Cancer Research UK as our nominated charity.

“Although we fundraise for Cancer Research UK on a regular basis, we were particularly keen to support the charity now, at a time when the pandemic is having such a devastating effect on its fundraising activities.

“Making this donation was the perfect way to mark the launch of our new Bassingbourn Fields development and we were thrilled that Gill was able to attend the event and cut the ribbon on behalf of the charity.”

Located off Mildenhall Road, Bassingbourn Fields will consist of a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes for sale. Customers can book an appointment to visit the sales office and find out more about the homes available by contacting a member of the sales team.
