First residents move into new homes at Weston-super-Mare development

The first residents have moved into their homes at a new housing development in Weston-super-Mare.

Bellway is building 150 new homes at Mead Fields, off Wolvershill Road, and with the first properties now complete, construction is progressing well on site.

The first phase of homes at the development sold within just a few months of them being released for sale in March, reflecting the growing need for new housing in the area.

When complete, the development will include 131 homes for private sale – including two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses – and 19 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Rachel Way, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “It is great news that the first residents have now moved into their new homes at Mead Fields and a brand-new community is being created.

“It’s always an exciting moment when people get the keys to their new house – both for them as the buyer and for us as the developer.

“Customers here are attracted by the development’s location on the eastern edge of Weston-super-Mare. Mead Fields is only four miles from the town centre’s shops and entertainment facilities as well as the Grand Pier and the lovely beach.

“The site also has great transport links, just a mile from Worle railway station, for trains to Bristol and Taunton, and just over a mile from junction 21 of the M5 for journeys to Bristol, Gloucester or further afield.

“The variety of homes that are available at Mead Fields make this development desirable to first-time buyers, families, commuters and downsizers.”

There is a range of homes currently available to reserve at Mead Fields, including two-bedroom apartments priced from £204,995 and three-bedroom houses from £304,995.

Visitors to the development are able to look around the four-bedroom Milliner and Scrivener showhomes which can be viewed by appointment.

Shirley housebuilder releases first homes early in response to huge demand

The first homes have been released for sale at a new housing development in Shirley near Solihull – after going on sale early due to high demand.

Bellway brought forward the release of its first phase of properties at Lucas Green, off Dog Kennel Lane, after being inundated with enquiries from prospective purchasers.

Information on the first homes for sale can be found at Bellway’s nearby Tidbury Heights development in Tidbury on Friday 16 April.

A selection of two-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom houses are available, with prices starting from £239,500.

More homes will be released onto the market in the autumn when a sales office will open at the development.

Bellway is building 76 homes on the site, which was previously occupied by Lucas Engineering and is part of a wider proposed scheme of 260 homes.

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “Such has been the level of interest from buyers in the Solihull area that we have taken the unusual step of releasing the first homes for sale at Lucas Green several months ahead of schedule.

“We have received a huge number of enquiries since announcing our plans for the site. The site is in a highly sought-after location just a 10-minute drive from Solihull town centre and has good road and rail links to Birmingham. It is therefore appealing to a broad mix of buyers, from young professionals and first-time buyers to growing families and commuters.

“With construction work underway, we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to Lucas Green in the autumn. In the meantime, anyone interested in the new homes at the development can find out more by contacting our sales team at Tidbury Heights.”

First residents move into new Stafford housing development

The first residents have moved into their homes at Bellway’s Berswick Manor development in Stafford.

Five houses are now occupied at the site off Baswich House Way in the Weeping Cross area of the town, where Bellway is building 30 private homes for sale.

Berswick Manor is part of a wider development which also includes Bellway’s neighbouring Baswich Grange. Between them, the two sites will provide a total of 146 new homes, including 36 affordable properties for rent or shared ownership.

The development features a collection of premium four and five-bedroom homes, with prices starting at £443,995 for a four-bedroom detached house.

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “It’s always nice to welcome the first residents to a new development and see a brand-new community beginning to take shape.

“Berswick Manor is proving particularly popular with families who have been attracted by the wide selection of well-rated schools in the area, notably Stafford Grammar School, which is one of the most highly rated in the county.

“As well as being just over two miles from the town centre, residents will benefit from having many local amenities on their doorstep. There are a number of supermarkets within a mile of the development and Queens Shopping Park is just a 10-minute drive away.

“Berswick Manor’s location, on the edge of the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within a short drive of the M6, means it also has strong appeal for both commuters and lovers of the great outdoors alike.”

First residents set to move into new Romsey development

The first residents are getting ready to move into their new homes at a housing development in Romsey.
Bellway Wessex is building 73 homes at Meadow View, off Cupernham Lane, with the first properties due to be completed next month (February).

Bellway launched Meadow View in July last year and has since opened a four-bedroom Goldsmith showhome to give prospective buyers an insight into what life might be like in a new home at the development.
Viewings of the showhome are currently strictly limited to one-to-one appointments only, which can be booked with the sales team in advance.

Kim Caldwell, Sales Director for Bellway Wessex, said: “Since opening Meadow View last summer, we have seen a great deal of interest from house-hunters and we are looking forward to welcoming the first residents to their new homes.“We have made great progress with the build so far and it won’t be long before what has been a construction site becomes a new residential community in Romsey.“All of the homes at Meadow View are part of our Artisan Collection, which is the result of two years of development and decades of customer input. It is a new range of house types which combine traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail with the very latest construction techniques.”

Of the 73 homes that are being constructed at Meadow View, 44 are being sold privately while 29 are being provided as affordable housing available for local people through shared ownership or rent.
There is currently a selection of three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Meadow View, with prices starting from £479,995.

With some properties at Meadow View due to be finished before the end of the stamp duty holiday on 31 March, buyers who are able to complete their purchase by this deadline could save stamp duty on the first £500,000 of their new home’s price.
