Newsflare Hires Head of Data Analytics to Maximise the Value of User-Generated Video Strategies

London, New York, Los Angeles 16th June 2022: Newsflare, the world’s leading licensing platform and marketplace for user-generated video (UGV), has today announced the appointment of Liam Chapman as its new Head of Data Analytics. This newly created role, one of several key appointments following its £5 million series B funding round, will enable Newsflare to target buyers with highly relevant user-generated video (UGV), and help storytellers across TV production, online and social publishing, and brands maximise the value of their video strategies.

With the end of third-party cookies on the horizon, maximising traffic and revenue and meeting higher audience expectations for more meaningful interactions and immersive experiences are key priorities for buyers. Liam’s appointment will allow Newsflare to harness and deliver actionable insights that can be used to drive user experience optimisation, and ensure buyers remain one step ahead when it comes to delivering content that is proven to capture, retain and monetise audiences.

Liam joins Newsflare from Lands’ End Europe, where he held the position of Head of Analytics and brings with him a wealth of experience in using data to understand the wants and needs of users and delivering actionable insights for value-driving decision making. Prior to Lands’ End, Liam held senior analytics roles at BGC Group, Comparethemarket.com and Frontline Group.

Another first for Newsflare as it appoints new Head of Filmer Propositions

This newly created role reflects Newsflare’s commitment to scaling its member base, and ensuring it remains the number one destination for talented filmers capturing and sharing moments that matter.

Sarah joins Newsflare from With Nothing Underneath, where she held the position of Head of Growth. She brings 10 years’ experience of working with high growth businesses, and a proven track record in leading large scale B2C projects and ecommerce teams globally, at organisations including Suitcase Magazine Ltd, Avenue 32 and Charlotte Tilbury.

Sarah is the latest in a series of senior appointments made by Newsflare following its Series B accelerator funding in January 2022. With an investment-led expansion strategy in place, attracting new filmers and providing new opportunities for their talent to get noticed and rewarded are top priorities for the company, as it seeks to dominate the user-generated video market.

Newsflare Hires Nyasha Bass as US Head of Sales

Newsflare, the world’s leading licensing platform and marketplace for user-generated video (UGV), has today announced it has hired Nyasha Bass, former Director of Business Development at Hearst Newspapers, as its new US Head of Editorial Sales. Incredibly well connected, Nyasha’s deep experience in building relationships with publishers will be a boon for Newsflare as it seeks to build awareness of its unique capabilities and accelerate growth in the US.

Nyasha’s appointment follows Newsflare’s recent Series B accelerator funding announcement and rebrand. With an investment-led expansion strategy in place, attracting new talent is a top growth priority for Newsflare as it seeks to dominate the user-generated video market.

Prior to her role at Hearst, Nyasha held senior sales and business development roles at Naviga, Accelerate Consulting, and Storyful. Bringing her 15 years of digital media experience to the fore, she will be tasked with targeting growth through new customer acquisition forming key relationships with publishers and finding creative opportunities to help them engage more effectively with audiences using Newsflare’s vast vault of emotionally powerful, authentic, quirky, and even downright brutal UGV content.

Nick is a highly experienced growth marketing expert, combining creativity with digital strategy to attract, engage and retain customers. Nick most recently served as Digital Strategist at VIXIO and brings vast experience of leading the strategy and execution of global marketing programmes for organisations such as Pepsi Co, ALM Media, The Michael J Fox Foundation, and Baretz + Brunelle. Results-oriented, Nick has a history of driving continuous growth and building highly engaged customer bases.
