Tangerine announces record growth as it hits 20th anniversary

As it celebrates its 20th anniversary, creative communications agency Tangerine has announced record growth, with turnover surpassing the £5m mark and headcount doubling over a 12-month period to more than 100 people.

Tangerine’s milestone anniversary comes at a point of ambitious expansion and investment for the agency – which is reflected in the rapid growth. Over the last 24 months, Tangerine has invested significantly in its people, processes and service offering to ensure it remains at the cutting-edge of industry innovation and is well placed to adapt to and capitalise on new market opportunities.

With a focus on being a great place to work that attracts the best talent in the industry, 2022 also marks the 5th anniversary of Tangerine becoming employee-owned.

Founded in 2002 by current Chair Sandy Lindsay MBE, Tangerine is now led by joint CEOs Sam Gregory and Mary Harding. The pair have been with the agency for over 10 years, previously acting as joint MDs before being appointed to the CEO position in 2021 to reflect the agency’s growth and increasingly complex structure.

Commenting on the anniversary, Sandy said: “2022 is a huge year for us, the business is 20 years old, with over 100 people and five years into our employee ownership. It is only because of our team’s enthusiasm, talent, and dedication that we have reached this milestone. I am particularly proud that Tangerine has managed to achieve this fantastic growth over the last 20 years whilst still maintaining our core values.”

Tangerine’s client roster includes established global brands and disruptive market leaders including Specsavers, Dunelm, Wavin, and Ideal Standard. The focus for the business over the next 12 months is to continue to roll out its ambitious growth plans while delivering award-winning work for its clients.

Mary commented: “Reaching our 20th anniversary is a fantastic moment in our history and a significant achievement in the agency world. We’re looking forward to celebrating the milestone, but are also very excited about embarking on the next stages in our growth plans and seeing where that will take us.”
